Småland´s nature paradise
Åsnen with its unique and untouched archipelago offers exciting experiences and guided tours in magnificent nature.
Åsnen - Natur for real
When you visit Huseby bruk, you visit Swedish history. Knowledgeable guides tell about the times that were and when the tour is over you can walk through the gardens or sit down for a refreshment.
Get yourself up in the saddle and let your horse slowly walk along the most beautiful dirt roads. Over the meadows you get a glimpse of lake Åsnen that glitters in the sunshine. After a short canter up the slope towards the wood you dismount to enjoy a break with your back resting against a wooden trunk and the horse grazing in the field. A ride in Åsnen gives you nature for real.
Åsnen offers accommodation for many different tastes - choose between a comfortable bed in a hotel or a country inn or spend the night in a wind shelter under whispering spruce and pine.
Artistic treasures from lakes and woodland
The Åsnen region’s rich cultural heritage finds expression in the wealth of arts and crafts created around the lake; nature provides a natural source of inspiration for paintings and handicraft alike.
To make a fire in nature is not always allowed
Due to high fire risk during the summer, it may be prohibited to light up a fire in nature or on you own property. During fire prohibitions every open fire is usually prohibited.
In the Åsnen area the lighting of fires is ALWAYS prohibited from April 1 - September 30.
Nature experiences that you will only find here!
With the archipelago and 700 km of shoreline, Åsnen offers you nature experiences that are a little out of the ordinary. Visit any of the 15 nature reserves located in or close to lake Åsnen!
The right of public access is unique!
You apply the right of public access when taking a walk, canoeing or simply just sit on a rock thinking. The rule gives you a lot of freedom. But it also means that you have a large responsibility towards the environment, wildlife and the owner of the ground you’re on. The most important rule:
Don’t disturb – don’t destroy!
